hp Hewlett Packard Sales Tax Policy
HP Hewlett Packard is required to charge sales tax on all orders purchased online.
As of January 1, 2005, HP Hewlett Packard is required to collect a recycling fee of between $8 and $25 on the following products if they are being shipped to an address in California: Cathode ray tube containing devices (CRT devices), Cathode ray tubes (CRTs), Computer monitors contining CRTs, Laptop computers with liquid crystal display (LCD) screens, LCD containing desktop monitors, Televisions containing CRTs, Televisions containing LCD screens, Plasma televisions, Portable DVD players containing LCD screens.
The Online Return Policy at hp Hewlett Packard
Returns on hp Hewlett Packard products must be made within 21 days of delivery, excepting the following products: opened box software, Designjet Z2100 series printers, HP Color LaserJet CP6015dn Printer, and gift cards (except where required by law). The only accepted returns on orders are those placed with the HP Home & Home Office Store by phone or online. Returns or exchanges for items from the Parts Store, Small & Medium Business Store and repairs cannot be accepted either.
How To Process your HP Hewlett Packard Return or Exchange
All products being returned to HP Hewlett Packard must be returned within 21 days of delivery, in their original condition and packaging, with all accessories and the UPC code intact.
When making a return to HP Hewlett Packard, be sure to follow these steps
- Get a Return Material Authorization Number (RMA) by phoning HP Hewlett Packard at (888) 999-4747.
- HP Hewlett Packard will email you a shipping label that you need to print within 5 days.
- Replace the product in its original packaging including all items that were originally in the box.
- Remove or cover the original shipping labels and affix the new label (provided by HP Hewlett Packard).
- Write your RMA number (return material authorization number) proceeded by the letters RMA (example: RMA 1234567) in bold letters on the outside of the package.
- Take your return package to a FedEx location and return it within 5 days of the RMA being issued.
Both shipping & handling charges cannot be refunded when you make a return, however, tax IS refunded with your return. If your item was part of a group of products of which the purchase afforded you discounts or free gifts, the value of the discount or gift will be subtracted from your refund if this return causes the purchase price of the original group of items to fall below that required for any discounts, waived fees or free gifts.
Items purchased at HP Hewlett Packard that CANNOT be returned except if damaged upon receipt:
- Opened, boxed software.
- The DesignJet Z2100 Series Printers.
- HP Color LaserJet CP6015dn Printer.
- Gift Cards.
